PRIVATE TESTS

Dale uses results from private laboratory testing as a tool to provide information about possible health improvement strategies. Information from a well-chosen test can simplify and fast-track your path to better health!

Results from tests used by Dale cannot be used to make diagnoses and can only be used in an informative manner.

The tests provided by Dale are in this section. If appropriate, other tests can be considered.

FOOD INTOLERANCE TESTS

Food intolerance test for IgG and IgA antibodies to over 90 foodstuffs: Analysed by: US Bio Tek Laboratories USA

This standard food intolerance test tests for antibodies for over 90 commonly intolerant foods via a finger-prick blood test. The test results are easy to read and give a graded reaction for each foodstuff that can extend from no reaction to a strong reaction.

For an example of an IgG / IgA food intolerance test see: http://www.usbiotek.com/Downloads/samples/sample_general_iga_igg.pdf

It is also possible to test for other foodstuffs and for IgE antibodies. IgE antibodies are usually produced in an allergic reaction as opposed to IgG and IgA that are produced in an intolerance reaction.

US Bio Tek has both leading and long-term experience with testing for food allergies and intolerance. They use the ELISA method and guarantee results that are 95% reproducible. US Bio Tek Laboratories is an approved medical laboratory also certified by «the federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA)» i USA.

For the period 2006-2007 COLA (Laboratory Accreditation Body in USA) awarded US BioTek Laboratories 'The Laboratory Excellence Award'.

A test result will normally lead to an informative list of recommended foodstuffs to be eliminated for several months to give the body a rest. During that time, the possible underlying factors can be addressed to help reinstate a tolerance. Ideally, one would take a three-day stool test from Genova diagnostics at the same time to help find possible underlying causes such as bacterial, yeast or parasite overgrowth. The results of these two tests give valuable information on which to base an individual intestinal improvement program.

It usually takes 3-4 weeks following testing to receive test results.

It is also possible to work with intestinal improvement without testing. However, the tests simplify the process and can shorten the length time for health improvements to be felt.

DIGESTION - STOOL TESTS

A three day stool test can give useful information about how to balance and improve one’s health. The stool test is taken at home and is then sent directly to the laboratory upon completion. It is simple to take and can give information on whether there may be intestinal inflammation, whether there may be any bacterial, fungal or parasitic overgrowth, if there is sufficient protein and carbohydrate digestion, if there is enough digestive enzymes, and whether there may be recirculation of hormones and toxins. These can be useful to consider in general health improvement strategies. They can also be involved in food intolerances and it can be useful to take a food intolerance test at the same time to give a fuller picture.

Dale uses a three-day stool test from Genova Diagnostics USA as follows:

Genova Diagnostics GI Effects This is Genova Diagnostic’s newest three-day stool test with improved test procedures including genetic testing for specific bacteria as well as standard culture and microscopic testing. Information about GI Effects: https://www.gdx.net/product/gi-effects-comprehensive-stool-test Link to an example of a test result for GI Effects: https://www.gdx.net/core/sample-reports/GI-Effects-Compehensive-SR.pdf

Genova diagnostics is a fully accredited medical laboratory, certified in the areas of clinical chemistry, bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, virology, microbiology, non-syphilis serology, general immunology, haematology, toxicology, as well as molecular genetics by six separate health agencies including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services that oversees clinical labs in the United States under the federal Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA).

URINARY METABOLIC PROFILE AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTANTS PROFILE

Evaluated by: US BioTek Laboratories Seattle USA

A combined environmental pollutants and metabolic profile can give information as to whether a high amount of environmental pollutants are in the body such as parabens, phthalates as well as various solvents. These can be involved in bodily discomfort. This test can also give information on how the body metabolizes energy. This will give an indication of which supplements in the form of minerals and cofactors could help to improve energy production and detoxification. This test can also give information about the body’s stress levels, detoxification and bacterial status.

The test is a simple urinary test that is taken at home.

For an example of the environmental pollutant part of the test, see: http://www.usbiotek.com/Downloads/samples/Sample_EPP.pdf

For an example of the metabolic profile part of the test, see: http://www.usbiotek.com/Downloads/samples/Sample_UMP.pdf

Each test comes with a full report about recommended food, supplements and lifestyle choices to keep you healthy and strong based on your genetic make-up.

LYME DISEASE / BORRELIA TEST

DNA Connextions Lyme DNA Panel Test. Analysed by DNA Connextions Colorado USA This is a urine sample test. This Lyme panel is tests for 4 different genes that are found in Borrelia burgdorferi, and 8 common Lyme disease co-infectors including Babesia microti, Babesia divergens, Babesia duncani, Bartonella bacilliformis, Bartonella henselae, Bartonella quintanta, Borrelia miyamotoi, Borrelia recurrentis, Ehrlichia chaffensis and Anaplasma phagocytophilum. Testing of Lyme co-infectors (other tick-transmitted organisms) indicates likely infection with the Lyme spirochete as well.

A positive PCR result from the DNA Connexions Lyme test indicates the presence of DNA from B. burgdorferi and/or other co-infectors. A negative result does not prove a patient is not infected with a tick borne infection, rather it indicates the absence of detectable Lyme and/or other tick borne co-infections. A patients ability to fight the disease, stage of infection, and timing of courses of antibiotics are only some of the factors that may affect the detectability of the spirochetes DNA.
